Theory lessons

Theory of the PPL/LAPL can be taught in class, as self-study or via distance learning

Through Breda Aviation, you can go in any direction and have enormous flexibility in how you wish to obtain the theory. We understand that flying is often done alongside another activity. For this reason, we offer three forms for theory: Classroom, Self-study or Distance Learning.

In all cases, theory training for both PPL and LAPL includes the following subjects:

  1. Aircraft engineering
  2. Navigation
  3. Aviation physiology
  4. Meteorology
  5. Radio communication VFR
  6. Aviation law
  7. Aerodynamics and Performance

Classroom course

At the start of a new subject, you can join the classroom theory course. Classes take place on Tuesday evenings from 19.30 - 22.00. The schedule can be found in BredaPedia under 'Pilot and student information'. During the classroom course, you will also use BredaPedia for practice questions. When you have completed a subject, you will take Progress Tests (PT) at the Breda Aviation location. With a sufficient score, you may register for the exam at CBR.

Self-study

You can also choose to study the theory on your own. This requires a certain amount of discipline and study skills. You study the material yourself through the available books and use Breda Pedia as a supplement. If you think you have sufficiently mastered a subject, you take the Progress Tests (PT) at the Breda Aviation location. With a sufficient score, you may register for the exam at the CBR.

Distance learning

Everything online, except the exam, and in English. Particularly suitable if you prefer an English-language course with English-language exams. We work with Orbit Groundschool for this purpose. Orbit Groundschool has an online system based on BSG (Bristol Ground School). Where through Orbit Groundschool you take the Progress Test (PT) remotely and you take an online brushup. Once you have successfully completed the PT and Brushup, you can take exams on site at Orbit Groundschool through Austro Control.
