Pipistrel Velis Electro

From the end of Q1 2026, we will add the Pipistrel Velis Electro to our fleet. This is an all-electric teaching aircraft specially developed for flight training and approved in several countries for pilot training under Day VFR.

For students, this means a more modern learning experience: quieter in the cockpit, intuitive controls and immediate take-off without warm-up. For instructors and existing pilots, it is a new step in development within Breda Aviation's trusted quality and guidance.

Sustainability that goes further

At Breda Aviation, sustainability is not a promise but part of our vision. We invest in innovation that works in practice, so you can learn to fly in the future with the quality and guidance you have come to expect from us.

Where can I learn to fly electric in the south of the Netherlands?

From March 2026, Breda Aviation will allow you to learn to fly electrically in the Breda region. Breda Aviation is the only flight school in the southern Netherlands to integrate electric lesson flying in its training courses. This means that you can not only plan a casual introduction, but actually start a future-oriented learning route, with the same professional guidance and quality standard as in regular training.

Electric lesson flying will start from March 2026. The exact availability of trial lessons and introductions depends on scheduling, instructor capacity, weather conditions and aircraft deployment within the course. If you want to make sure you can be the first to book a spot, sign up via the sign-up option on the page. As soon as the schedule opens, we will contact you to choose a suitable time together.

The biggest difference is in the experience and impact. Electric flying is significantly quieter and has no direct emissions in flight. This often gives more peace and focus in the cockpit while learning. The way of training remains the same at Breda Aviation: you get clear lesson structure, professional instructors and a focus on safety and quality. Importantly, learning to fly classically remains fully available. So you do not choose between flying or not, but between two ways of flying within the same flight school.

In many cases, electric lesson flying is actually very suitable for beginners, as the experience is quieter and quieter and the focus can be more on the flying itself. At the same time, we always look at what suits your goals: do you eventually want to progress to a specific licence, do you already have experience, or do you want to orientate with a trial lesson first. During an introductory meeting, we discuss your situation and advise which route fits best, electric, classical or a combination.

Electric flying is significantly quieter than traditional training aircraft. This is pleasant for the environment around the airport, especially when training flights take place regularly. It is also in line with the broader development in aviation, in which innovation and responsibility are becoming increasingly important. With electric training flights, Breda Aviation is investing in future-proof training, with respect for the environment and society, while keeping the quality of flight training at its core.
