Practical lessons

A practical flying lesson: we adjust the pace to suit you

A flying lesson: You can start practical lessons at any time. We fly 7 days a week from 9am to E.O.D. (End Of Daylight) and during summer time until 6.30pm.

A lesson block lasts 1½ hours. A lesson starts with a short briefing beforehand, then you fly for 50 to 60 minutes and afterwards the instructor evaluates the lesson with you again during the de-briefing. Lessons take place in an Aquila A211 or our Tecnam P2010.

All practical exercises, videos, questions, progress status, etc. can be found in BredaPedia. Finally, your flights are logged in BredaPedia and automatically appear in your own flight logbook. So you have everything integrated in one place.

Solo flying as part of PPL training

One of the best moments, though, is the solo flight. Or the flight you make alone. You can often feel your first solo coming, but when exactly varies from student to student and depends a lot on the weather. This is the culmination of your efforts and work. In total, for your PPL, you will make at least 10 hours of solo flying, each time making a flight that will help you progress to completely independent flying.

The practical exam at PPL/LAPL

Your exam training already starts during the course. Within the framework of the lessons, you will have three progress tests (PT) in between. These are designed to determine your progress towards the exam. Each PT you fly with an instructor who is not your standard instructor. After passing a PT, you move on to the next phase of your practical training. When you are ready for the practical exam, we will schedule it in consultation with you. A prerequisite is that you have already passed your theory and hold a valid medical class 2 certificate.

As an ATO, we may have exams conducted at our school

As we are an ATO, we are allowed to assign the examiners ourselves. An exam consists of a part theory (about practice) and a part practical flying. You show what you have learned using the guidelines set by EASA. These are tested. After successfully passing your exam, you are officially passed and we submit the application to KIWA. Now it's just a short wait and you'll receive the coveted PPL licence with the SEP (Single Engine Piston) endorsement.
